We are busy bees again after another bout of the stomach flu. This time Noah was the one who was struck. We have been taking turns since the middle of December and Noah was the last to get it.
Today we worked on a number of things and unfortunately, the writing assignment that I scanned has to be rescanned. So keep a look out for a snowman in the next couple of days. What I have to put online is a crazy poem we studied and a comic strip made by Noah. I did the printing with a pen and made a boo-boo. So it wasn't Noah's fault that "knocked" looks funny. I was distracted and doing too many things at once. How many of you know what I am talking about???
What else we have been doing:
Mia is learning the days of the week and has been colouring printouts from a really neat website I found on the weekend.
She is learning to add bundles and sticks up to 30 in her math book from Modern Curriculum Press.
We have been taking a look at the life and works of George Friederic Handel (1685-1759). So far we have read two books about Handle's life and works and have listened to "Water Music" which was composed for King George I of England.
Our Artist this term is Rembrandt. If you want to know which pictures we are looking at, please take a look at this link and scroll down to where you see "Rembrandt". There are links to the pictures we are studying.
Noah is going to learning more about Canada in the early 1600's. I will keep you updated.
We have a lot of great stuff planned. Keep coming back. Our next big project is to take a look at Jan Brett's "The Mitten". Jan Brett has a wonderful website with many great activities.
